At Christ Presbyterian Church, we want you to find a place where you can connect with our church family. There are many different ministries for different ages, interests, spiritual growth needs and seasons of life. Take some time to read about the ministries represented below. We're sure you'll find just the place for you!
Our Small Group Ministry allows members and non-members of our church
to attend a Bible study without having to travel far, allowing for
consistent involvement in the study. Each small group is situated
in strategic locations that are convenient to all who are interested in
participation.
The focus of these groups is to thoroughly cover topics that are
relevant to people today who have to live out their lives in a world
that is full of sin. The goal is to equip those in attendance
with a Biblical world view, allowing them to let the world see the
difference Christ has made in their lives.
We want each person to
know how to live a life that constantly bears testimony, whether words
are used or not, that says, “I love the Lord my God with all my heart,
all my soul, and all my mind...and I love you, my neighbor, more than
myself.”

Youth Group - ZEO
ZEO, (rhymes with "mayo"), verb. (1) To have great fervor. A Greek word that means fiery hot, fervent or full of burning zeal. It is the opposite of dignified, cold and unemotional. In a Christian context, it signifies a high spiritual temperature, inflamed by the Holy Spirit. (2) The new name for the Youth Group at Christ Presbyterian Church.
The apostle Paul used the word "ZEO" in his letter to the Romans (see Romans 12:9-11) saying, "Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, FERVENT IN SPIRIT, serving the Lord..."
As youth pastor at Christ Presbyterian Church, my vision for the youth is that they fall passionately in love with their Savior, Jesus Christ. My prayer is that He will set a fire in them by His Spirit that will cause them to be a light to this generation. My desire is that they will have a fire in their eyes for Jesus, the one who died for them; a burning love and compassion in their hearts for the lost that will ignite their schools, their community and even their world.
Andy Park wrote a song in 1994 called "We Will Ride". It paints a beautiful picture of Christ, now risen from the dead, glorified, and who now calls to us by His Spirit to tell us of the passion He has for us, His bride.
He has fire in His eyes and a sword in His hand And He's riding a white horse across this land And He's calling out to you and me 'Will you ride with Me?'
That fire in His eyes is His love for His bride And He's longing that she be with Him, right by His side And He's calling out to us right now, 'Will you ride with Me?'
(The chorus goes on to say)
Yes, Lord, we will ride.
This song was inspired by Revelation 19:11-16. It's an awesome description of Jesus, who once was the humble carpenter from Nazareth, but is now seen as He truly is: "Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True... His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns... And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS."
This is the One we love and worship. He is the King. Will you ride with us?
If you are between the ages of 13 and 19, please join us at ZEO. We meet every Wednesday night from 6:30 p.m.
to 8:00 p.m. to worship God with music and art, study His Word and learn how to love as Jesus loves us. We meet in the youth room at the church. Please check the church calendar for changes of location and/or activities, concerts, etc. Or you may call Jim Keane, at (706) 892-8536 if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you there!
